Marriott's short-term rental offering, which has been in testing for a year, is now being rolled out globally.

Homes & Villas by Marriott International features 2,000 luxury addresses.
With 2,000 upscale and luxury residences spread across more than 100 destinations throughout the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America, the group intends to respond to the “ evolving needs of consumers in travel ” and counter the rise of Airbnb.
According to Stephanie Linnartz , Global Chief Commercial Officer of Marriott International, the goal is to offer “ all the space and amenities of a home with the support of a trusted travel agency, as well as the best loyalty benefits .” The property management agencies that Homes & Villas by Marriott International works with provide 24/7 assistance, professional cleaning services, high-speed Wi-Fi, linens, premium amenities, and on-demand services for the whole family.
To ensure the success of these residential rentals, the group plans to leverage its loyalty program (5 points for every dollar spent). During the test phase, nearly 90% of customers were Marriott Bonvoy members, and their average length of stay in the residences was more than three times longer than the average length of stay in hotels.
